Ghana, Sierra Leone friendly in Paris in danger

Ghana’s friendly against Sierra Leone in an important Africa Cup of Nations warm-up on Saturday is in danger of not taking place because of financial difficulties.

According a Sierra Leone news portal, match agent Gael Mahe has unable to raise the money to pre-finance the Leone Stars trip to Paris for the game.

According to the source from the Sierra Leone Football Association included the agent has been unable to purchase officials air tickets of players and officials as well as match fees for the teams.

Despite the report, Ghana players and officials have been arriving in Paris on Thursday ahead of the friendly which means they have been able to acquire air tickets.

The Ghana FA is yet to confirm if the report is true but if Sierra Leone fail to arrive coach Goran Stevanovic must contend with just training with his players.

It is not known if the frienly against Gabon could be affected by this claim.

Ghana was scheduled to play Sierra Leone on November 12 and round up the last international match dates on the football calendar against the 2012 African Nations Cup co-host, Gabon.

Both games will kick start Goran Stevanovic's preparations for next year's Cup of Nations.
