Waris scored for Valenciennes

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris powered Valenciennes to a crucial 1-0 win over Jonathan Mensah's Evian TG in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old grabbed the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute with a powerful finish as he enhanced Valenciennes chances of surviving relegation from the French top-flight.

The Spartak Moscow loanee forward had come close twice to scoring the opening goal in the first half but he was denied by the host keeper.

However his persistence paid off just after the hour mark when he maintained his resilience to shot home and inspire Valenciennes to victory.

Waris has been in top form for Valenciennes since joining them in Janaury and has scored contributed 6 goals so far in 10 league games in their bid to survive relegation.

Fear Southern Africa U Apes. In Afcon 2004 Tunisia, Zimbabwe had beaten ghana 2-0 in group stages but Nigeria Beat Senegal, Ghana & Zimbabwe To Win That Group and Senegal As Runners Up on goal difference with Zim.

Ghana black Maidens playing against the Republic of South Korea and Ghana is leading by one goal to nil at the end of the first half. But as usual the Ghanaians are playing without any pattern, cannot string their passes together and not running into spaces for pass. All I can see is the coach shouting at the touch line meanwhile I cannot seen the changes his shouting is bringing into the game. I wonder the kind of instructions he is giving to the girls probably saying 'play it the way you already know because I know nothing'. Sometimes I wonder kind of tactics they bring in our national teams that they always give us this heart attack performance.

My worry is what other option does Ghana have apart from Gyan-Waris? You can go far in a world cup with only one clicking pair. We still do not have a competent option for Rabiu Mahammed in the Holding midfield role. AA has still not been able to solve this problem of the BS lateral defense to even think of the option. Hmmmmmmmm!

Great strike.keep the good job up. We all know your move to russia was a wrong move but hey we make mistakes so that we learn from them. More grease to your elbows.

I said some time ago that Waris and Dede are the potent guys who have the potential to explode at the upcoming world cup. If Essien, Muntari, KP, Gyan and Boye can lift up their game a little bit the world would witness a refined African soccer come June, 2014.Mark my words!I pray they stay fit for selection. Go GH!!
