Ghanaian coaches have hailed the victory of David Duncan in the landmark case against Hearts of Oak.

The ex AshantiGold trainer has secured the award of a $40, 000 compensation for his unfair dismissal by the Ghana Premier League giants.

Several reports of unfair dismissal of Ghanaian coaches have gone unchecked in the past.

Only expatriate coaches have managed to secure similar ruling against Ghanaian clubs – making Duncan’s victory a novelty for local coaches.

Hearts have already served notice of their intention to appeal the ruling made by the Ghana FA’s Status Committee.

Ghanaian coaches have however cheered the ruling – believing it will pave the way for the right treatment by their employers.

“This is the bomb of the year and it is good news for all Ghanaian coaches,” Executive Member of the Ghana Coaches Association of Ghana J.E Sarpong told Asempa FM.

“Coach Duncan has fought a good fight and has led the way for Ghanaian coaches.

“This case is a landmark case and an eye-opener to all and we hope many others will take a cue from it.”
