Ghanaian defender Gideon Baah played his first game for HJK Helsinki in the 3-0 defeat to Rovaniemen Palloseura in the Finish League Cup.

The 22-year-old joined the Finnish champions on a three-year deal at almost a fortnight ago from Honka FC for an undisclosed fee.

Baah however kick started his campaign at his new club on a sour note as the side slumped to a 3-0 defeat to ROPS in the cup game played last Friday.

The former Asante Kotoko player will be hoping for an improved result when the side play home in the same competition against Inter Turku on Sunday.

Baah joins HJK following an impressive debut season in the Finish top flight where he was awarded the Best Rookie of the season.
