Ghanaian youth international Ema Boateng has expressed delight at his match-winning heroics for Helsingborg IF in the Swedish top-flight.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate, 21, climbed off the bench in the 77th minute and stole victory for the Red and Blues with a predatory strike.

Falkenbergs appeared to have earned a point from the game after Gustaf Nilsson had pecked the scoring after Darijan Bojanic had scored twice to put Helsingborg ahead.

But Boateng emerged with a moment of magic as he scored the match-winner to restore Helsingborg to their winning run.

"It was wonderful to get in, get three points and win so dramatically. Jordan got laid a good pass so I started searching in the area and started yelling at him. He passed well and I finished off neatly," he said in a post-match interview.

Boateng started Helsingborg's last game but was dropped to the bench manager Henrik Larsson but he came off the bench to prove his worth with a crucial winner.

"It is difficult when one is changed into the game because the other players are already warmed into it so it takes time to get into the game. When I get to play 90 minutes every time then I have more chances of proving myself to everyone," he explained.
