Ghanaian heads African Amputee football body

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) has appointed Francis Adjetey Sowah as president of the Amputee Football Federation of Africa (AFFA).

He will be assisted by Madam S. Barbara Vali Ogunti of Liberia who is the new Secretary General of the continent's federation.

The appointment of Adjetey Sowah, who is also the Vice president of the Association of Sports for the Disabled (ASFOD) in Ghana, takes immediate effect.

He is therefore required to lead Ghana to host the next Amputee Football Federation of Africa congress and also the African tournament in Accra/ Kumasi.

In another development, Ghana was awarded the Most Promising Team at the just ended World Amputee Football tournament in Argentina.

Ghana placed sixth in the tournament won by Uzbekistan, the defending Champions.
