Spanish second division side Elche have sacked Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso for disciplinary reasons.

Elche have retained 42% of his transfer rights after relationship with the club’s bosses deteriorated.

He was paid four months of his wages before Elche sacked him after his agent Peter Obiorah intervened.

But recent disciplinary problems forced the club to announce Wakaso’s dismissal with a terse statement.

“Elche Football Club has reached an agreement with the player Mubarak Wakaso to terminate his contract because of disciplinary problems,” Elche statement read.

“He has been dismissed for misconduct. The player is definitely sacked from the Elche Club de Fútbol because of disciplinary problems.”

Wakaso, a hugely talented midfielder, has been suspended five times since joining the club three years ago.

He was slapped with a huge fine at the start of the season because of arriving late from his home country on holidays.
