Striker David Asare is in strong contention of becoming the leagueââ¬â¢s top goal scorer in the Faroe Islands, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 19-year-old who plays forà FC Suduroyà has bagged 20-goals so far and is just one shy-off his competitor and teammate John Tordar Poulsen with three matches left to go.
Asare hit a brace in his club's 6-1 mauling of Vikingur over the weekend but says his target is to play in one of Europe's elite clubs in future.
ââ¬ÅI believe in my capabilities and I know what I can do,"he said.
"I know with God, I will play in one of the top clubs in the world very soon and everyone will see what I possess."
Suduroyà encounter's HoyvÃk in their next league outing, a match Asare hopes to get a couple of goals to aid his campaign for the golden boot.
"Scoring last weekend has given me a lot of confidence and I hope to continue in our next league game and hopefully by the time the season comes to an end, I will be top scorer of the league."
