Ghanaian striker John Antwi swooped the Egyptian Premier League 2013/14 Golden Shoe Award at the league's award gala after outshining other strikers during the league season.

The 21-year-old netted 11 times in 14 games for Ismaily SC to win the award.

"Egyptian League Top Scorer 2013/2014. Glory be to GOD," the striker who had a short spell with Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak four seasons ago posted on his official Facebook account.

Antwi beat Khaled Kamar of Shorta who netted 10 times at the end of the regular season divided into two groups of 11 teams each of which the top two in each section qualified for the championship round of four teams in round robin format to determine the Egyptian champions.

Despite being hit with a five match suspension during the league season, Antwi still maintained his form in the league and could not be overtaken.

Impressively, only one of his goals came from the penalty spot as he improved his scoring records from last season's five to 11 in the season that won him the award.
