Black Stars hopeful Kwame Amponsah Karikari was forced to pull out of Balikesirspor's training on Friday after sustaining an ankle injury, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 2011 Ghana U20 striker, 22, will not be in action for the promotion hopefuls as they host Gaziantep BB at their Bal?kesir Atatürk Stadyumu on Sunday evening.

The former Inter Allies striker has hit top-form in the Turkish second-tier league as he has notched 11 league goals in 22 appearances.

But he hopes to keep his impressive scoring run in the league, he suffered the injury and will have to wait for sometime before resuming training though he says he will remain on the sidelines for long.

"I suffered the injury at training and I'm unsure whether I can play on Sunday but I hope to be back quickly to action," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Karikari is on loan at Balikesirspor from Swedish giants AIK Solna and will revert back to the back at the end of the season.
