Ghana's 2018 World Cup opponents Egypt name 24-man squad ahead of Congo qualifier

Egypt coach Hector Cuper has named a strong 24-man squad for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo next month.

The Pharaohs have included Hull City midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady, Arsenal enforcer Mohamed El-Neny and Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhi in their squad.

The seven-time African champions are desperate to qualify for the World Cup in Russia after missing out by a whisker two years ago.

Defenders: Ahlmed Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy (Ahly), Islam Gamal, Ahmed Dwidar, Ali Gabr (Zamalek), Hamada Toulba (Masry), Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City, England), Mohamed Abdel-Shafi (Ahly Jeddah, KSA)
