Heart of Lions favour a move for experienced E K Afranie for next season

Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions are considering moving for experienced Ghanaian tactician E K Afranie as new coach, Ghanasoccernet.com understands.

Lions supremo Victor Ahiakpor is already aware of the extent of his management's interest in the former Black Stars coach and would not go against a decision to bring him in.

Sarfo Castro, who joined the Giant Killers from Kotoko on a season stint was sacked at the latter stages of the season for non-performance.

Ahiakpor is impressed with Afranie's CV and would personally engaged the 67-year-old to convince him to take over the Kpando-based side.

However, a section of the club's managment are also favouring a move for Paa Kwesi Fabin who is the head coach of Ghana's U17 side.

Fabin handled Lions three seasons ago and built a winsome side for the club.

Those favouring his reappointment believe he can replicate his performance and turn them into top-four contenders.

Lions escaped relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight on the final day of the season.
