Hearts 'beg' Medeama over Malik Akowuah gaffe in a fascinating transfer drama
Malik Akowuah's transfer to Hearts has generated huge controversy

Hearts of Oak officials are 'begging' Medeama to avert a potential legal tussle which threatens their signing of midfield star Malik Akowuah, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Top officials of the African giants have made frenetic efforts to talk the Yellow and Mauves out of taken legal action against the club after they 'illegally' signed their prize asset.

Hearts announced the signing of the 26-year-old on Monday but that claimed is being challenged by the two-time FA Cup holders.

They have indicated their readiness for a legal showdown against the Accra-based side, accusing the side of tapping-up their player.

The Medeama secretariat has been inundated by several calls from many influential people who hold some form of allegiance or affinity to the club, according to GHANAsoccernet.com sources.

The club is hoping to convince club president Moses Armah, who is a die in the wool Hearts supporter to assuage him to drop his legal threat.

Akowuah has enjoyed a stellar campaign since he joined Medeama from Ashantigold.

He has been a key cog in the side but has been angling for a move since last season.

Medeama have insisted it has no problem allowing him to leave but have been angered by the 'crude and kangaroo' tactics adopted by the Phobians in securing his signature.
