Hearts of Oak beat Medeama on Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak coasted to a slim 1-0 win over Medeama SC in a pre-season friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

New signing Kwame Kizito sensationally slammed home a 23rd minute drive from the edge of the area following a calamitous defending by the Yellow and Mauves.

Medeama finished the game with ten men as Francis Addo was sent off on the 90th minute mark for a reckless tackle on South African international Shaun Mason October.

It was a game of two-halves. The Phobians heavily dominated the first-half, dictating the pace and scoring the only goal of the game. While Medeama returned from the break gingered and put Abdoulaye Soulama to test on a number of occasions.

Despite their dominance in the second-half, they failed to score and it was Hearts who could have topped up their lead. Togolese man Komi Foovi Aguidi was unlucky to have had his 92nd minute effort go wide.

Hearts coach Herbert Addo afford the opportunity to testing most of his unused players who were on international duty with Burkina Faso international Abdoulaye Soulama returning to goal.

Midfielder Issah Mumuni who also returned from his trial spell in German came off the bench to play in the second-half.

Hearts of Oak will travel to Tarkwa for the reverse leg next weekend.
