Hearts players paid outstanding salaries ahead of CAF Confederation reverse leg against Esperance

Hearts players are smiling to the bank after their outstanding salaries were paid on Wednesday, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The players were owed salaries running into several months which attracted subtle attempts to scuttle their CAF Confederation Cup reverse tie against Esperance on Saturday.

But the club has settled their indebtedness to the players ahead of the meeting against the Tunisian giants at the Accra sports stadium.

Players had threatened to lay down their boots in the wake of the serious financial predicaments but will now be smiling to the bank to receive their booty.

The club’s participation in Africa inter-club competition has taking a toll on their finances.

Hearts must overturn a staggering 4-0 deficit from the first leg to advance to the group phase of the competition.
