Hearts sextet get local Black Stars call

Ghanaian side Hearts of Oak claim six players have gained call-ups into the preliminary home-based national team squad for next year's African Nations Championship finals in Sudan.

Goalkeeper Sammy Adjei, Karim Alhassan, Osei Bonsu, Samuel Nzemaba, Edwin Osei Pele and Nana Bobie Ansah have caught the eyes of head coach Herbert Addo.

The technical team is yet to reveal the entire squad to picked to begin camping.

Of the six, centre-back Bonsu is the only surviving member of the 2009 set up that won silver at the maiden edition in Ivory Coast.

The entire squad will begin training on Monday ahead of finals slated for 4-25 February 2011.

Qualified countries for the draw which will be held on 27 November in Khartoum includes:

Hosts: Sudan

North Zone: Algeria, Tunisia

West Zone A : Mali, Senegal

West Zone B : Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Niger

Central Zone : Cameroon, Gabon, DR Congo

Central-East Zone : Uganda, Rwanda

South Zone : South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe
