Following his loss in the GFA Ex. Co elections, Frederick Acheampong has disclosed that he is happy with his achievement in the race.

The New Edubiase United representative pulled six votes in the race to the Executive Committee position but the youngster insists that it is a great achievement for him as a young man.

According to him, he is not happy that he pulled six out of sixteen votes but he believes it is a great achievement for someone who has contested for the first time to be able to pull such kind of votes.

“Not that I am celebrating mediocrity but I think it is a great achievement. All those who were elected are people I respect so much and could have voted for them if I was not contesting,” Achie said.

“Even though I went into the election to win, I’m not bothered. It is a very bad attempt and having been able to pull more votes than even established names in the system give hope to all.”

Fred Achie’s total votes were tow more than that of Kofi Manu and one more than Cudjoe Fianoe’s votes after the election on Tuesday.

The ace sports journalist along with AshantiGold CEO Cudjo Fianoe, Kingsley Osei Bonsu of Bechem United and Kofi Manu of BA United could not make it onto the Ex. Co after failing to make the required number of votes.

George Afriyie, Delali Senaye and Albert Commey pulled eleven votes each while Samuel Opoku Nti, Frank Nelson and Nana Banyin Eyison pulled nine votes each to join the Ex. Co of the Ghana FA for the next four years.
