Injured Michael Essien's future at Persib Bandung thrown wide open

The future of Persib Bandung midfielder Michael Essien has been thrown apart following the side's exit from the 2018 President Cup.

Essien, 35, has been absent from the side's training since their elimination from the competition.

The situation has further thrown the future of the Ghanaian open amid a reported interest from Major League Soccer side D.C United.

It has been claimed the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star is injured.
