Inter line up Sampdoria star to replace China-bound midfielder

Fredy Guarin’s seemingly imminent departure from Inter to move to China could see the Biscione swoop for Sampdoria midfielder, Roberto Soriano.

The Italian was the subject of much transfer speculation in the summer, with a proposed deadline day move to Napoli falling through due to paperwork not being submitted on time.

According to Tuttosport, Inter will need to cough up €15 million to land Soriano and with Guarin nearing the exit door at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, the Nerazzurri could submit a bid for the 24-year-old this week.

Inter’s city rivals AC Milan had also shown interest in Soriano in the summer, as coach Sinisa Mihajlovic looked to reunite with the midfielder.

Soriano has featured in each of Samp’s 20 Serie A matches to date this season, scoring six times and contributing an additional four assists in the process.
