Video: Jeffrey Schlupp is an early contender for miss of the season in England

Published on: 17 August 2014
Jeff Schlupp has been at the end much talk after his miss

Leicester City defender Jeffrey Schlupp is an early candidate for miss of the season in England after firing horrendously over the bar in their opening Premier League match against Everton on Saturday.

The Ghana international was played through one-on-one with Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard and with his first touch in the Premier League it sailed over the East Midlands sky.

The 22-year-old, who help Leicester City to gain promotion to the top-flight, could have been a hero went he came on as a substitute but his effort was hilarious.

Schlupp was one-on-one with Howard but he did a proper comedy fall over as he shot, and the ball enters orbit.

A fabulous pass found Schlupp inside the Everton half and the Ghanaian international burst away and then fires horrendously over the bar. No composure.

He could have even dribble the goal keeper by side stepping the ball. After all that hard work where was his composure...what an idiot. If he does this in a Ghana shirt we will hang him by his testicles.

@Chris.....He plays in many positions. In other words, he's a versatile player. He can play as an attacker and as defender. Sometimes he plays on the wide midfield as he did yesterday.
