Jeffrey Schlupp plays part for high-flying Leicester City in victory over Watford

Utility Ghana defender Jeffrey Schlupp lasted the entire first-half for Leicester City who recorded their 7th win of the English Premier League campaign after beating Watford 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri started the 23-year-old in an attacking midfield role but replaced him with Japanese international midfielder Shinji Okazaki just before the resumption of the second-half.

The Black Stars player came close to scoring the opening goal for the Foxes in the 5th minute but his rebound effort went just wide.

In a move that would benefit Ghana as the international break is approaching Schlupp will be able to rest before travelling to Africa to join his international team-mates for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros.

Former Caen midfielder Ngolo Kante hit the opener for Leicester to send the home fans into wild jubilation before the in-form Jamie Vardy scored the winner from the penalty spot.

Watford later halved the deficit through Troy Deneey who scored from the spot.
