Ex wife of Ghana defender John Mensah, Henrietta, has hit back at accusations she is the cause of the strained marriage of John Paintsil.

The South African-based defender has accused Henrietta of instigating his wife towards following her footsteps to a divorce.

Reports are rife that Paintsil’s wife, Richlove has began divorce proceedings of which the ex Fulham full back has refused to take part in his bid to save his marriage.

Paintsil however in an astonishing public attack claims Henrietta – the ex wife of his international colleague John Mensah – is behind all the negative reports about his marital problems.

But Henrietta in a sharp rebuttal insists playing no part in the ongoing sad events between John Paintsil and his wife Richlove.

“It can never be true that I influenced Paintsil’s wife to quit her marriage; if that were the case then what kind of people are they [the Paintsil’s]?” she told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“That as a full grown married woman can allow someone else to give her bad advice to quit your marriage?

“If anything, I have suffered the more because John Mensah accused me of changing for the worse when I started developing a close relationship with Paintsil’s wife.

“I never go out, it is her [Richlove] who comes to me but even that I am very careful to get into her private issues.

“If they have their issues, they should sort themselves out rather than bring me into their case.

“I have my own problems to take care of and therefore cannot carry an extra burden of shouldering the problems of others.

“How can John Paintsil make such comments? They are very false and without any basis.

“I am not to blame for their problems and I will definitely not allow anyone to run me down because of their own incompetence to deal with their private issues.”

A growing number of current and ex Ghanaian players are having serious marital problems in recent times.

John Mensah has just finalized his divorce with Henrietta while Arthur Moses has followed suit.

Nii Odartey-Lamptey is also on the same path after discovering non of his three children were biologically his.
