Schalke 04 midfielder Kevin –Prince Boateng says his side won a ‘great battle’ in their 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

Schalke produced an efficient display to beat Hertha Berlin 2-0 away from home in the German Bundesliga.

The Ghanaian international who played full throttle at the Olympiastadion stadium in Berlin, says his side won  a great battle.

“This was a great battle. I always feel I've got room for improvement, but I'm pleased that we've won and also that I played the full 90 minutes.”

Adam Szalai started to make himself a threat and he broke the deadlock midway through the half, heading in a Dennis Aogo corner.

Hildebrand was called into action again in the second half, flying across to tip over Tolga Cigerci's goal-bound effort.

However, Hertha were unable to find the equaliser and after pressing forward late on were undone on the counter, with Julian Draxler completing the win late on.
