Kevin Prince Boateng backs Frankfurt President's stance on anti-AfD and racism

Ghanaian footballer Kevin Proince Boateng has backed the stance of Eintracht Frankfurt President Peter Fischer on anti-AfD and racism. 

The Ghanaian who is an ardent advocate against racism and all forms of prejudice in sports has commended President Fischer for his stance against the canker that has bedeviled the sport.

AfD stands for Alternative für Deutschland, a far right wing political party that has racist, Islamophobic,anti-Semitic and xenophobic tendencies linked to far-right movements such as neo-Nazism and identitarianism.

Meanwhile, Boateng who is against the movement praised President of Frankfurt fore his stance against the movement.

"What surprised me then was that Our President Peter Fischer has positioned himself so clearly against the AfD and against all racism, "said Boateng to the" time magazine Frankfurt ". That's what the team stands for and what the city of Frankfurt stands for. "I think the same way, together, you have to tackle racism."

Boateng was born in Germany to a Ghanaian father and a German mum but opted to play for the senior side of Ghana in 2009.

The 31 year old joined Frankfurt last season and helped them to DFB Pokal glory after they beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the finals.

Meanwhile his future at the club remains uncertain with clubs from Spain pursuing his signature.
