Ghana goalkeepers' trainer Eddie Ansah has revealed that the confidence level of Adam Kwarasey at the Africa Cup of Nations is low.
Kwarasey came under pressure after a harmless cross from the left wing flew over his head to cancel out Ghana's opener in the 1-1 draw with Guinea last Wednesday.
The Norway-born had problems dealing with aerial balls in the previous match against Mali.
Ansah, who was between the sticks for Ghana in the 1992 finals against Ivory Coast, says the 24-year-old needs encouragement.
"Honestly his confidence has gone down a little bit.We have tried to work on his psyche," the former Ghana number one said.
Ansah also refused to blame the Stromsgodset glovesman for the Guinea goal which denied Ghana three straight wins.
"Actually, the ball took a deflection and it went beyond him. His positioning from the cross the first time was good and the ball took a deflection and went behind. I will not blame him totally but he could have done better."
Kwarasey will remain as first choice for Ghana for their last eight encounter against Tunisia on Sunday.
