La Liga side Granada have appealed to the Spanish Football Federation to overturn the red card handed to Ghana midfielder Wakaso in their clash with Athletico Madrid last week.
Wakaso was given a second yellow card in additional time compelling him to take a bow in the game with few second to end the game.
Wakaso got his second yellow card in the 94th minute after knocking out Antoine Griezmann. He had already received one in 72 minutes.
The decision will see the former Panathinaikos midfielder missing the side’s game against Sporting Gijon this weekend.
But with Granada facing their most important game of the season against The Red and Whites, the club has tendered an appeal to overturn the decision to allow the influential Ghanaian midfielder for the weekend game.
However, it is not yet clear if the Spanish Football Federation will hear the case with less than 24 hours before the game.
