Lesotho arrive late for World Cup qualifier against Ghana

Posted On Thursday, 31st May 2012

Lesotho will arrive in Kumasi on Friday morning less than 12 hours before playing Ghana in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Southern African country failed to secure the necessary travelling documents in time and issues of a bonus row affected their travelling plans.

The Crocodiles touched down in Accra on Thursday night from South Africa.

They will connect a 30-minute flight to Kumasi at 08: 000 before kick-off at 5:00pm local time.

Lesotho are likely to suffer from jet lag and would not have the benefit of training at the Baba Yara Stadium before the match.

Leslie Notsi’s side were beaten 3-0 by Ghana in Sekondi in October 2008 during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

  1. King says:

I think they just want to gain experience from this match, and not necessarily to win or draw. I see Ghana dominating till the final whistle.
They are building a new team entirely with their Under 20. Black Stars would seriously thrash this Lesotho squad if we take all our chances. I feel sorry for Lesotho, I hope Zambians watch this match closely.
