Liverpool launching bid for Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton

Liverpool are launching a bid for Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton.

The Sun says Anfield spies have been raving about the young forward, who will be 18 next month.

Boss Jurgen Klopp knows the Reds do not have a rising star in their striking ranks and he fancies taking Brereton under his wing and developing his talent.

Brereton has shown his quality with three goals and clever assists since being thrown into the Forest first team in January to help manager Gary Brazil's Championship struggle.

The former Stoke kid has the kind of skills Klopp thinks he can use to make him a modern forward, playing the way the German coach wants. And Liverpool would like to buy him to keep rather than loan the player back to Forest because Klopp likes to work on players inside his own set-up.
