Incoming Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed his desire to hand more opportunities to home-based players.

Appiah is returning to the job after leaving two years ago.

The former Asante Kotoko defender has agreed a two-year deal with the Ghana FA to replace Israeli Avram Grant.

And he has started monitoring the local league in his bid to get more locals into his new team.

Appiah has vowed to give locals equal chance to stake a claim in the Black Stars.

“I always believe that we have very good players locally and its only good that we give them the chance to showcase their talents," he told Starr Sports

” We should give them the opportunity to come in and out and hopefully i believe many of them can be of help for the nation in future."
