Midfielder Malik Akowuah has denied swindling Aduana Stars ahead of his move to Hearts of Oak.

Officials of the Dormaa-based side claimed the experienced player took monies from them with the intention to sign for them.

But he ended up switching to Hearts from Medeama in a controversial move.

Akowuah revealed he took money from the club but admits that was no guarantee he was going to commit his future to the club.

''I heard rumours calling for my arrest but I am clean. Yes, it is true Aduana where interested in acquiring my services around the first round of the 2015/16 GPL, so any time I'm in Dormaa, I received some money which I considered as transportation and accommodation, so I don’t know why people are accusing me for doing wrong,'' Akowuah said.
