Malmo midfielder Mattias Svanberg not daunted by new signing Kingsley Sarfo

Malmo FF midfielder Mattias Svanberg says he's not daunted by fighting for his place following the arrival of Ghanaian sensation Kingsley Sarfo.

Sarfo joined the Swedish giants last week on a four-year deal for $1.5 million.

There are fears Svanberg could miss his place in the squad due to his involvement with Sweden's U19 team ahead of the 2017 Euro Under-19 Championship in Georgia.

The championship clash with Allsvenskan preliminary rounds which means the youngster will miss several games.

But he says he's not daunted by the possibility of losing his place to the highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder.

"It's clear that the idea came up, but we'll see. I want to wait a little longer," the Swedish told the Evening Post

"Right now I'm in Malmo and will fight every day, at every practice, to turn me into this squad. We do not know much yet, it can change quickly."

The 22-year-old is expected to mark his debut against former club Sirius IK next month.
