Man City plan big money auction for Aguero

Manchester City expect a big money auction for Sergio Aguero this summer.

But any prospective buyer would have to come up with a near-world record fee for the Argentine, says the Manchester Evening News.

City are adamant they do not want to sell their leading scorer - even if his place has come under threat from Gabriel Jesus.

But should Aguero push for a move at the end of the season, City will be in a position to name their price.

Real Madrid are expected to firm up interest in the 28-year-old, whose future has been a source of uncertainty since Pep Guardiola's arrival.

Should Aguero decide that he is not prepared to share playing time with Jesus, City would not let him leave on the cheap.

There is a long-held belief within the club that he is worth more than the then-world record £85.3m Real paid for Gareth Bale 2013.
