Man Utd lose Ibrahimovic to THREE game ban

Published on: 08 March 2017

Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match ban for violent conduct following clashes with Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings on Saturday.

The ban will begin with immediate effect.

The Football Association released the following statement on Tuesday afternoon: "Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an FA charge of violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty.

"It follows an incident in or around the 44th minute of the game between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth on Saturday (4 March 2017).

"The misconduct was not seen by the match officials at the time but caught on video."

United's leading scorer will consequently miss the Emirates FA Cup tie at Chelsea, followed by the Premier League matches against Middlesbrough and West Brom.

He is due to return in the home game with Everton on 4 April but remains eligible for the Reds' Europa League clashes with FC Rostov.
