Former France captain Marcel Desailly believes Ghana are on course to secure a third consecutive FIFA World Cup qualification berth.Ã
The Ghanaian-born has praised head coach Kwesi Appiah and the Ghana Football Association for doing the right things in the qualifiers
Ghana are placed second with nine points; one point behind leaders Zambia in Group D.
Desailly told Joy Sports: "I'm very pleased to see that they have used a local coach, Kwasi Nyantakyi has done very well since I told him I was not ready for the position and they appointed Kwasi Appiah who is doing very well.
"Zambia is still there hanging but I think we can do well and qualify and potentially I think we can surprise the world again at the World Cup."
Ghana will play Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday in the penultimate round qualifier.
