Veteran winger Bernard Don Bortey has announced his likely return to the Ghanaian scene after scoring to inspire Hearts of Oak to a 3-1 win over lower-tier side Vision Explorers FC on Thursday afternoon.

The 35-year-old, who scored 9-times in 27 appearances for Ghana, got on the score-sheet in the 24th minute after converting from the spot kick at the Pantang Vision Explorers Stadium in a suburb of Accra.

Maxwell Boakye and Kwame Kizito were the other scorers for the Phobians on an afternoon they entirely dominated the lowly-rated side.

Marquee signing Malik Akowuah gelled in midfield as they outplayed the youngsters in a rehearsal game ahead of their G6 semi-final clash with bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The former Ghana U17 star picked a knock from the clash but has assured the Phobian fans he will be ready to feature against Kotoko on Sunday.

Bortey's appearances on the afternoon evoked brief nostalgia as he shared pleasantries with his former strike-partner Charles Taylor who is a member of the Vision Explorers technical bench.

The winger is eager to relaunch his career on the Ghanaian scene.
