Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah shakes off injury scare ahead of Sundowns clash

Influential Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah shook off an injury scare to complete Friday's training session ahead of the side's CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The combative midfielder limped off temporarily after he collided with 'best pal' Paul Aidoo.

The incident curtailed the session momentarily as his colleagues looked on in anguish.

But the former Ashantigold and Great Olympics enforcer returned to the pitch to complete the session without any difficulties.

Akowuah is the cog in the Medeama midfield, using his intelligence, skills and physique to distribute passes.

He is expected to be key for the Mauve and Yellows ahead of the crunch first leg tie against the newly-crowned South African PSL champions.
