Medeama SC President Moses Armah believes his team is now ripe to mount a staunch challenge for the Premier League title.

The Tarkwa-based club have been pre-championship favourites for the past three years but have been unable to translate their good off-season form in the Premier League.

The Mauve and Yellows have often run out if steam especially mid-way through the season and club President Armah says measures have been taken to avoid such mid-season slumps.

“We have signed a lot of young players this term so I believe we are ready to challenge for the title,” he told Accra-based Radio Gold.

“It is because we have been signing old players (reason for mid-season slump) but this time we have signed young players.

“I am part of the recruitment team and the coach is doing well, we have young players now so you will see the difference.”

Medeama managed to finish fourth after a shaky start last season.
