Medeama rally to beat Hearts and qualify for FA Cup final

Published on: 02 June 2013
Medeama are through to the MTN FA Cup final.

Ten-man Medeama converted two second half spot-kicks to beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 on Sunday to reach their first ever MTN Ghana FA Cup final.

The Mauve and Yellows fell behind early in the first half when Hearts defender defender Robin Gnagne scored from the spot.

Medeama upped their display and were awarded two penalties in the second department.

First it was a hand ball and the second one occurred when Nuru Sulley felled Tanko Mohamed inside the area.

Medeama captain Godfred Rockson elected himself on both occasions and put kicks past goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard.

The Tarkwa-based side will now face Asante Kotoko in the final in Accra on July 15.

That's what you get when you build a team around one player, in this case M. Otoo. A club so primitive its not even funny !

GUVE HEARTS SOME TIME. THEY NEED 1 OR 2 MORE SEASONS WITH THE CORE PLAYERS THAT THEY HAVE TO SUCCEED. MEDEAMA ON THE OTHER HAND HAS A GOOD CHANCE TO WIN THE PREMIER N FA CUP THIS YR. INFACT, THEY HAVE 2 QUALITIES THAT IMPRESS ME. 1. THEY HAVE PLAYED WITH MOST OF THEIR PLAYERS FOR THE LAST 2/3YRS 2. THEY HVE REMAINED CONSISTENT STAYING AT TOP THE SUMMIT OIN THE LEAGUE. IF THEY CAN BE DETERMINED N DISCIPLINED AS A TEAM. THEY CAN WIN THE DOUBLE. KOTOKO IS A YOUNG, FRESH SQUAD.
