Medeama warn Hearts, Aduana over Akowuah, Donsu 'illegal' tapping, threaten to report 'crude' pursuit of star men to Ghana FA

Medeama have warned Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars to stay clear off their star men Malik Akowuah and Kwesi Donsu, threatening to report the conduct of the two clubs to the Ghana FA over the 'clandestine and crude' pursuit of their two players.

In a strongly worded-statement issued on Friday, the two-time Ghanaian FA Cup holders are unhappy with the 'tapping' of their star men and warned they will not take kindly to the modus operandi  of the two clubs in destabilizing their players and the team.

Hearts and Aduana Stars are believed to have held secret meetings with the two players over a potential move to their respective clubs without recourse to the Tarkwa-based side.

Hearts in particular are famed for tapping players without following due protocol - a move which has angered the ambitious Ghanaian side.

"We are appalled by the behavior of the two clubs and urge them as a matter of urgency to desist from destabilizing the two players and our team by extension," part of the statement signed by Chief Executive James Essilfie read

"Both Akowuah and Donsu are contracted to the club until 2018 and will not leave until the right procedure is followed.

"We are incensed by the breakdown of protocol and the obvious disrespect and disregard for the basic rule involving transfer of players.

"The club would be forced to report the conduct of the two clubs to the Ghana FA for the flagrant abuse of the FIFA rules.

"Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars must understand that the era where players were whisked into cars for signatures to be appended is in the stone age.

"Medeama is a professional club which is being managed by professional personalities and expects the same from the two teams.

"The club would like to reiterate that holding secret meetings with the two players won’t wash.

"As the club decides on the disciplinary action to be taken against the two players, Medeama would like to tell both Hearts and Aduana Stars unequivocally to stay clear off our two players."
