Ghanaian youngster Abdul Rashid Obuobi has taken the Latvian Versliga by storm with his superb performances week-in-week-out for FK Ventspils FC.
The highly-rated left back was ever-present for the Yellows last season when they clinched the Latvian FA Cup in grande fashion as they defeated Riga FC on penalties in the final, and he is seeking to add more silverware with the club this season.
The Accra New Town-born versatile defender is originally an attacking winger when he first joined Ventspils in 2014 from Serbian side Domji Srem, but he has been converted to a marauding left back by necessity and flourished last season during their FA Cup triumph, and is now an undisputed owner of the position.
The 22-year-old was known for his pace, trickery and accurate crosses, and not mention his Taye Taiwo-esque shooting power.
He played full throttle for Ventspils in their last week's 2-1 home loss to Leipaja in the Latvian Cup.
