Ghana captain John Mensah has been linked with a Turkish top-flight side following reports he is heading to terminate his Olympique Lyon contract.

Mensah-who made only one appearance for Lyon last term due to injury-is on the verge of severing ties with the French Ligue 1 side.

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, Fenerbahce have offered 1 million Euros to sign the former Rennes defender.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas confirmed last month that the stalwart centre-back will leave the club at the end the season.

Mensah has been battling against injuries since he arrived at Lyon four years ago.

He was loaned to English Premier League side Sunderland from 2009 to 2011 but reverted to his parent club last season.
