Michael Essien out of Panathinaikos clash against PAS Giannina in Greek Cup tonight

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been ruled out of Panathinaikos clash against PAS Giannina in the Greek Cup tonight due to  minor injury.

Manager Andrea Stramaccioni has left out the 33-year-old as a precautionary measure after he suffered discomfort in their 2-0 win over Kalloni on Monday.

Essien has been in fine form for Panathinaikos since he shook off a long injury lay-off.

The Greens are favoruite to advance as they hold a 2-1 lead from the first leg.
