Mihajlovic: AC Milan must stop wasting opportunities

AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has called for his team to stop wasting opportunities ahead of Sunday’s clash against Genoa.

The Serbian has lamented the points dropped to the likes of Atalanta, Empoli, Hellas Verona, Bologna, Carpi and Udinese, and expects maximum results at home to the 16th placed Grifone.

“We have everything to make up positions but we have to take our chances,” Mihajlovic told reporters.

“These games you have to win, though I cannot blame the boys’ commitment and desire.

“Genoa are a well-prepared team and it will be a tough game, even though they are lacking important players.

“Unfortunately we cannot pick up seven or eight straight victories like Juventus and Napoli but eventually we can catch up to the teams above us.

“We are a hard team to beat and in the long run we will recover the points.”

A win would put the Rossoneri within two points of rivals Inter, who play Fiorentina in Sunday’s evening fixture.
