Asante Kotoko have been bundled out of the MTN FA CUP after losing 3-2 on penalties against Bechem United on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupines hopes of landing a major silverware this season has been dealt a blow as Bechem crushed them out of cup competition.

The match finished one all after extra-time.

Bechem's Yaw Arnol beat the offside trap to slot a neat strike past hapless Felix Annan in goal for Kotoko in the early stages of the game.

The Porcupines responded positively to fetch the equaliser through Bennett Ofori in the second half.

But were unlucky to score the winning goal in the 78th minute when top scorer Dauda Mohammed missed a contentious penalty.

Bechem officials who felt hard done-by referee's decision to award Kotoko a penalty told players to abandon the game before spot kick was effected.

Dauda Mohammed was expected to make amends in the shootout but he unfortunately missed.

Yaw Arnol kept a cool head to slot home hr final kick to send Bechem through to the semi-final.

The Hunters will face second tier side Wa rockets who also shocked premier league leaders All Stars in the semi-final stage.
