Musician Ekow Micah has pleaded for clemency after making a shocking admission that he was part of a grand conspiracy involving Sarah Kwablah to extort money from Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan.
Kwablah has accused the Black Stars captain of rape and sodomy but Micah who is currently in police custody claims the whole case is a hoax merely meant to extort money.
The 'Aba' hit maker was arrested over three weeks ago in the ongoing investigations by the police following a report made by representatives of Gyan over charges of blackmail and extortion.
This led to the arrest of entertainment journalist Anthony Sarfo who demanded to be paid a huge sum of money so he doesn't publish the purported sexual act between Asamoah Gyan and Sarah Kwablah.
Micah was the next to be picked up after initial evidence gathered proved he had a hand in the whole saga.
The police have since gathered enough evidence which smacks of collusion between Micah and Kwablah with the sole aim of extorting money from Asamoah Gyan and looked are already in court.
But in a sudden twist of events, self-acclaimed Rastafarian and musucian Ekow Micah has made a startling confession.
In making a public statement before reporters Micah said: "I am making these statements out of my own volition.
"What I want to say to Ghanaians and the whole world is that, I would sincerely like to apologise to the Gyan family.
"The name or the glory of the Gyan today, I have contributed a little.
"I don't know what came over me that all these hullabaloo is going around.
"Honestly, from the beginning, I didn't realise it was a move for extortion but as time went on, I realised.
"The girl [Sarah Kwablah] claims she has this and this and the things that you see her sending to Gyan, it is obvious!
"From the onset, I got carried away and I made a mistake. It's only a fool who doesn't change his mind."
Micah has also confirmed he being involved and impregnating Sarah Kwablah but had wanted to shift the responsibility on Gyan.
His confession comes just as the police were heating up with prosecution in court.
But the Commander of the Airport Police Station Chief Superintendent Yao Tettegah says the whole case can be dropped following the startling confession from Micah if the Gyans are satisfied.
"The police is out for peace so if Ekow [Micah] and the Gyan family have settled their differences and there is an understanding, they can tell us what they've done and we'll pick it up from there," he said.
"We need not to go ahead if the parties are no longer interested in the case."
It is unclear now whether Asamoah Gyan is still poised to pursue the matter in court with this new development.
Sarah Kwablah had equally been charged after turning herself in a few weeks ago.
