Veteran football administrator Nana Fitz has told Kwesi Appiah not to allow the Ghana Football Association impose their technical team on him.

Appiah, 56, was handed the Black Stars coaching job on Tuesday after weeks of search for a worthy replacement for Avram Grant, who departed the role last month after guiding the team to a fourth place finish in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

"Kwesi shouldn't allow the FA to pick his backroom staff for him. What happened after they fired him, did they not let Maxwell Konadu stay on. He should use it as a lesson so that he wouldn't become a victim of circumstances again," he told Happy FM.

"If I were him I will do away with Maxwell because he is not competent."
