New Edubiase United beat Dwarfs on Thursday

Bismark Idan rose to the occasion and snatched the match-winner for New Edubiase United at Robert Mensah Stadium as they claimed a 2-1 win over Ebusua Dwarfs in Thursday's rescheduled First Capital Ghana Premier League tie.

The former Berekum Chelsea man poked home the game winning goal from close range after escaping a flurry of legs to aid Edubiase's course.

Dwarfs put themselves in front as early as the 6th minute when Richard Gadze swerved two Edubiase defenders to beautifully finish off.

But celebrations and hopes at the Robert Mensah Stadium evaporated in the 30th minute when Kwame Adjei levelled the scoring for the visitors.

A Fuseini Nuhu well-articulated corner from the right saw a rebound from the Dwarfs defence and Adjei punished them for their ineptitude when he sensationally volleyed a powerful drive which beat Patrick Antwi.

Professor Mintah's side returned from the break to hoard possession but they failed to turn it into goals and Edubiase scored the eventual match-winner.

But 15 minutes before the end of regulation minutes Bismark Idan demonstrated just how it must be done when he poked home from close range to seal victory for the Bekwai-based side.

Dwarfs continue to languish in the danger-zone while Edubiase have moved within the reach of a top-four place with 27 points.
