Ghana international midfielder Prince Buaben has declared himself to be a changed man thanks to the arrival of his baby son.

Buaben received a life-changing Christmas gift when son PJ was born on Boxing Day.

The 22-year-old and partner Tanith welcomed their boy into the world on December 26.

Buaben has had more time to grow accustomed to being a father and is now desperate to get back into action.

The Ghana international has a special celebration planned if he manages to hit the net in one of the league matches in Scotland where he plays for Dundee United

He said: “It was such an amazing experience. In the lead-up to the birth I wasn't all that excited because I didn't know what to expect, but when the baby arrived I just burst into tears.

“His name is PJ, short for Prince Junior. Tanith gave birth on December 26 and I have never experienced anything like it. He is 7lb and very healthy.

“He is so cute and this is definitely going to change my life forever.

“I have always been confident but I feel even more so now. I'm really buzzing about the whole thing and it has passed so quickly.

“Having your own son is a tremendous feeling. I know now that everything I do is for my family and that is a great feeling.

“I am obviously thinking of more than just myself and that's the way I like it. I have responsibility now.

“I have to thank Tanith for giving me our first child. I appreciate it so much – it is just awesome.”

The young midfielder lost his father recently and he is hoping to keep the memory of his father alive with the birth of his son.

PJ is also the nickname of the famous Ghanaian sports radio presenter with Asempa FM.
