Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to heavily criticise the performance of summer signing Christian Atsu against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
The Magpies endured their first defeat in three Premier League matches as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium.
The visitors had the better chances in the first-half but Brighton managed to get the winner just after the break when striker Tomer Hemed capitalised on Newcastle’s poor defending with a poacher’s finish.
Newcastle barely posed a serious attacking threat in the second-half and they rightfully left the game empty handed following a disappointing away performance.
The club’s supporters took to Twitter to show their anger towards the team’s performance on the day and Atsu was singled out for his lacklustre showing.
