AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo insists there is no lingering offer for midfielder Malik Akowuah.

Reports linking the former Ghana U-23 star with a move away from Obuasi has resurfaced following AshGold’s 1-0 defeat to New Edubiase in the FA Cup final.

Hearts of Oak has been talked of as the most likely destination of Akowuah after expressing an interest in signing the former Great Olympics player.

But Fianoo is adamant no deal is in the offing for his enterprising midfielder especially with regards to the reported interest of Hearts.

“Hearts have not made any contact with us with respect to Malik Akowuah not even a phone call,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“What Hearts usually do is that they will call to ask whether the player is available and then follow it up with a letter.

“But so far nothing of the sort has occurred so again I don’t know where these rumours are coming from.”
